Espers

These mysterious relics are one of the most important items you will encounter in Jade Dynasty. In addition to providing you with bonuses to many of your attributes, they also provide a means through which one can automate the otherwise tedious task of fighting monsters.
Unlike other Gear, when you have an Esper equipped, an additional interface panel appears. This Esper Panel is an extremely useful feature and can be a great asset when used wisely.
Though you may simply purchase an Esper from an Esper Mystic, by progressing through the Mandatory story quest line, you will receive a free Esper before long. Humans receive the Trigram, while Athans obtain a Colorful Gem. Once you have acquired an Esper, simply right-click on it within your Bag to equip it.
Introduction
Espers require Energy to reach their full potential. If not active, Espers gradually recover their Energy while equipped. When the Esper has over 50% Energy, you can activate the Invigorate function and let the Esper control the actions of your character. At this point, the Esper will automate the actions of your character, following the restrictions that you set forth in the various option menus.
Invigorate
Your Esper will continue to engage in combat until you either run out of Esper Energy, or you die. While you are below LV90, your Esper will not consume any Energy while you are Invigorating, however once you reach LV90, your Esper Energy will gradually deplete while the Invigorate feature is active.
Esper Skills
Each Esper has a unique Esper Skill. These skills provide an extra attack ability which is more powerful than your standard attack. You can use this ability by clicking on its icon within the first slot of the Esper Panel. Your Esper will automatically use its Esper Skill with a player defined frequency while Invigorating. Each time the Esper Skill is used, the Esper will gain one point of Esper Proficiency. Esper Accessories and Tomes will increase the Rank of your Esper Skill making it more powerful and cheaper to use.
Esper Level
Just like your character and Pets, your Esper also is able to increase in LV. Your Esper's Proficiency, represented by the purple bar displayed below the row of shortcut buttons on the Esper Panel, indicates how far into its current LV your Esper is. When your Esper fills its Esper Proficiency bar it will automatically increase in LV. At higher LV, Espers provide better attribute and Skill bonuses.
Note: Espers have a maximum LV that is dependent on your current LV. For every 5 LVs you gain, your Esper can gain 1 LV.
HP, SP & EN
These text abbreviations represent slots for Batteries and Remedies. If you have the appropriate Remedy or Battery, your Esper will automatically use them to restore the corresponding gauge. If the Remedy you are using is depleted, your Esper will search your Bag for another Remedy to use.

Note: Your Esper will not automatically use Health and Spirit Remedies, or Energy Batteries if you did not start Invigorating with one already in the appropriate slot.
Invigorate Details

Clicking on this button will bring up 10 additional slots for you to place skills or items that you want your Esper to use while it is automating your actions. You can configure the exact frequencies of use in the Invigorate Details panel.
The Invigorate Details interface allows you to control the conditions and timing that your Esper uses Skills and consumables. It also allows you to control what items your Esper will pick up. The upper portion enables you to set the percentage threshold below which your Esper will start using Remedies to restore your Health or Spirit. You can also set a minimum time between uses to avoid wasting Remedies unnecessarily.
In the middle portion, four additional options are presented - these can either set your Esper to pick up all items, pick up nothing, or use filters.

To use the filters, select either Only Pick Up or Do Not Pick Up, and then enter the names of the items you would like to filter into the text field provided. After each name you enter, click the Add button to insert the item into the list. You may also select a Quick Setting which allows you to easily configure what Provisions, Materials or Talismans you wish to filter.
The bottom section allows you to enter the time delay between each use of an ability or an item (the time is displayed in seconds).
Invigorate Settings

The General section of the Invigorate Settings interface allows you to specify which Monsters your Esper will attack.
The Advanced portion allows you to restrict your Esper to only attacking Monsters which you have a quest to kill. The Invigorate Area option allows you to define the area in which your Esper will roam while Invigorating. Setting it to Unlimited will allow your Esper to move your character anywhere in order to engage in combat.
You may also enter a Custom Invigorate Area (the Range option is the range at which your Esper will acquire a new target).
Note: Be careful of the area size you choose - if too small, you may not be close enough to engage in combat with Monsters. On the other hand, if it is too broad, you may inadvertently be led into a group of more powerful Monsters and killed.
